1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using StudyBuddy ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

StudyBuddy is an AI-powered study platform that allows users to upload study materials and generate summaries, flashcards, quizzes, and personalized study plans. The Service is available via web application and Android app.

3. User Accounts

You must create an account to use StudyBuddy. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use StudyBuddy only for lawful educational purposes. You may not:

• Upload copyrighted material you do not have the right to use.
• Use the Service to generate content for academic dishonesty or plagiarism.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, hack, or disrupt the Service.
• Use automated tools to scrape or bulk-download content from the platform.
• Share your account credentials with others or create multiple free accounts.

5. Content Ownership

You retain ownership of all study materials you upload. AI-generated content (summaries, flashcards, quizzes, study plans) created from your materials is yours to use for personal educational purposes. You grant StudyBuddy a limited license to process your uploaded content solely for the purpose of providing the Service.

6. Subscription & Billing

StudyBuddy offers free and paid subscription tiers. Paid subscriptions are billed through Stripe on a monthly or yearly basis. You may cancel your subscription at any time from the Settings page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis.

7. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

StudyBuddy uses artificial intelligence to generate summaries, flashcards, quizzes, and study plans. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may contain errors or inaccuracies. The Service is intended as a study aid, not a replacement for professional instruction. Always verify important information with your course materials and instructors.

8. Service Availability

We aim to provide reliable service but do not guarantee 100% uptime. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or factors beyond our control. AI features depend on third-party providers and may have varying availability.

9. Limitation of Liability

StudyBuddy is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of your use of the Service, including but not limited to academic outcomes.

10. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page, which will permanently remove all your data.

11. Changes to Terms

We may modify these terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by posting updated terms on this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
